Given the specific nature of the place, there are limitations on visits by people with reduced mobility.
The Mamertine Prison, formerly called Tullianum by the Romans, located at the foot of the Capitol and near the Roman Forum, the oldest prison in Rome, a place of suffering and death for many centuries, a maximum security prison for enemies awaiting execution. Here, according to tradition, the Apostles Peter and Paul lived out their last days before being executed.
